A Mold father has been jailed for three years after repeatedly assaulting his two teenage daughters and threatening to kill one of their friends.
Ricky Richardson, 41, of Denbigh Road, admitted a string of offences against his daughters aged 19 and 18, dating from April 2023, as well as threatening Ellie Condron.
Caernarfon Crown Court heard Richardson became “violent and unpredictable” whilst under the influence of drugs. During one incident in 2024, he threw a baby gate at one of his daughters after calling her an “evil and vindictive b****”.
In another incident, he punched his younger daughter in the face after she found him “foaming at the mouth” and “grinding his teeth”. When told he had 20 minutes to leave, he said he had a noose and would use it.
Richardson also told one of his daughter’s friends: “I’m going to kill you.”
The court was shown images of injuries including what Judge His Honour Timothy Petts described as a “nasty gash above the eye” on one victim.
Defending, Joseph Lees said Richardson developed post traumatic stress disorder after the death of a close friend and tried to self-medicate with drugs to “block out the past”. However, Richardson has since seen videos of his behaviour and is “shocked” at the appalling behaviour.
Judge Petts said Richardson had “violated the trust and security of his family life” and that there is no prospect of rehabilitation.
Richardson was jailed for two years and four months for coercive and controlling behaviour, and eight months for making a threat to kill, to run consecutively. He also received two month and six week jail terms for the assaults to run concurrently.
