A 48-year-old man has been sentenced to more than two years behind bars after admitting to strangling a person and threatening to share an intimate image of them.
Geraint Hopwood, of Kinmel Bay, pleaded guilty to intentional strangulation, criminal damage and threatening to share an intimate photograph or film of a person.
The sentencing
He appeared at Mold Crown Court on Friday, where he was handed a prison sentence of two years and three months. A further concurrent six-week sentence was also imposed for the criminal damage offence.
Restraining order
On top of his jail term, Hopwood was made the subject of a seven-year restraining order. The order prohibits him from contacting or approaching the complainant, and from posting any material referring directly or indirectly to the complainant online.
