A 39-year-old man has been sentenced to 19 months in prison after breaking into a block of flats in Pontypool and stealing a Samsung tablet.

Adam Waters admitted burglary at Cardiff Crown Court following the incident at Glanwern House, which took place between January 25 and January 28, 2025.

Prosecutor Kathryn Lane told the court that Waters took the tablet during the break-in at the residential building.

The court heard that Waters, of no fixed abode, Pontypool, had previous convictions for similar offences.

Hilary Roberts, representing the defendant, asked the court to give Waters credit for his guilty plea.

Judge Paul Hobson jailed Waters for 19 months.
