A man has been sentenced to 16 weeks in prison after exposing his genitals in Cardiff city centre and stealing hot food from a Greggs on Queen Street.

Paul Quinn, 44, was identified by officers who recognised him from CCTV footage of the offences. He was arrested on Albany Road in Roath on Monday afternoon.

Within 24 hours of his arrest, Quinn appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court, where on Tuesday, 10 February, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 16 weeks’ imprisonment.

PC Harry Edgeworth, from the city centre Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Public spaces should be safe for everyone, and we will always take swift action against those who choose to behave in a threatening or indecent manner.

“I hope this conviction provides reassurance that we are committed to protecting our communities in Cardiff city centre and ensuring offenders are brought to justice.”
