Man Admits Child Attempted Murder in West Wales

A 28-year-old man has pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of a child in Ceredigion, West Wales. ⚖️

Rhydian Jamieson, from Cwm Cou, Newcastle Emlyn, entered the guilty plea at Swansea Crown Court on Thursday.

The child, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was taken to hospital after Dyfed-Powys Police were called to an address in Y Ferwig, Ceredigion, shortly before 10:15pm on 15 January following reports concerning the welfare of a child.

Judge Paul Thomas KC told the court: “I will deal with [the defendant] on 27 May.” Jamieson was remanded into custody until sentencing.

John Hipkin KC represented Jamieson, while Caroline Rees KC appeared for the prosecution.
