Two London-based drug dealers who tried to use a vulnerable addict to reclaim their seized “burner” phone have been sentenced to prison terms. 📱⚖️

Mustafa Daud, 43, from Silvertown, London, and Osman Ishmail, 39, of Swansea, were caught operating the “Marcus King line” which supplied heroin and cocaine in Swansea.

Swansea Crown Court heard that on February 24, police stopped a vehicle in Landore where they seized a Nokia phone from the centre console, which both defendants denied knowledge of.

Later that day, the pair brought a known drug user to Swansea Central police station to falsely claim ownership of the phone. When questioned privately, the vulnerable man admitted, “the phone was not his but he had been told to say it was.”

Analysis of the SIM card revealed bulk messages advertising the “best of both” – a reference to heroin and cocaine. The investigation also showed the phone had travelled with Daud from London to Swansea.

Both defendants pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine.

Judge Geraint Walters described peddling Class A drugs as an “evil trade that destroys communities” and said those involved “must expect serious punishment.”

With one-third discounts for their guilty pleas, Ishmail was sentenced to 67 months in prison and Daud to 72 months.
