A Llantrisant woman has been sentenced to 32 months in prison after pleading guilty to a significant fraud case against her employer. 📊⚖️

Victoria King, 56, from Highdale Close, Llantrisant, appeared at Merthyr Crown Court today (Thursday, May 1) where she received a custodial sentence for fraud by abuse of position.

King, who worked as a Finance Manager at Eftec Ltd, was found to have fraudulently disguised payments to her personal account after irregularities were discovered by the company in September 2023.

The investigation revealed that King’s actions resulted in losses exceeding £140,000 to the company. Following the discovery, she was dismissed from her position, subsequently arrested and charged with fraud.

King had previously pleaded guilty to fraud by abuse of position at Merthyr Crown Court on Monday, March 31.

In addition to the prison sentence, an application will be made under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) aimed at recovering the financial losses suffered by Eftec Ltd.

The case highlights the serious consequences of financial misconduct in positions of trust, particularly given King’s complex history of repeated offences in financial management roles.
