A Liverpool man who showed “blatant disregard” for a restraining order designed to protect his former partner has been jailed for 14 months.

Lee Roberts, 34, of Higher Lane, Liverpool, admitted attending his ex-partner’s home in Mold on two occasions in November last year, despite a lifetime restraining order in place to prevent him from doing so.

The restraining order was imposed in July 2024 to protect the victim and her mother, preventing Roberts from contacting them or attending any address he believed them to be at.

Despite this clear prohibition, Roberts continued to make unwanted contact with them, resulting in a suspended sentence being activated.

Upon his release from prison, he immediately visited his former partner’s home again, leading to his latest conviction.

At Mold Crown Court on Thursday, 8 January, Roberts was sentenced to 14 months in prison.

Sergeant Kerry Nash said: “Roberts showed blatant disregard for the restraining order by repeatedly making unwanted contact with his ex-partner.

“Restraining orders exist to shield individuals from harm – violating them is a serious offence.

“This was a distressing ordeal for the victim, and I hope today’s outcome offers her some measure of reassurance.”
