A man from Upper Brynamman has been sentenced to eight months in prison after repeatedly breaching the conditions of his Serious Crime Prevention Order.

Leon Ley, 38, pleaded guilty at Swansea Crown Court to four counts of failing to comply with a serious crime prevention order between April 1 and November 12, 2025.

The court heard that Ley breached his order in multiple ways. He failed to notify South Wales Police of his interest in a vehicle on two separate occasions, failed to inform them of a change of address, and failed to notify police that he had access to a bank account belonging to a third party.

The SCPO was originally imposed following Ley’s conviction for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs – cocaine – in 2021. These orders are designed to prevent or restrict an individual’s involvement in serious criminal activities, and breaching them can result in prosecution.

PC Alison Carter-Thomas said: “We often use Serious Crime Prevention Orders to help us prevent those convicted of serious offences from reoffending. However, when they do, we are able to take action.

“I’m pleased to see Ley held accountable for his actions and hope this sends a message to others that we will relentlessly pursue those looking to breach their restrictions and bring them to justice.”
