A 24-year-old man from Newbridge has been sentenced to jail for a vicious attack on a woman, which included grabbing her by the hair, hitting her, and biting her. Lewis Holton also threatened to “put a price on her head” if she reported him to the police.
The victim, whose identity is protected, described her ordeal as being like “a real life horror movie” in a powerful impact statement. She shared, “Nearly every day that passes I get flashbacks. The numerous sleepless nights and horrible nightmares are a constant reminder.”
Holton pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and intimidating a juror. This marks his third restraining order for violence against women.
Judge Simon Mills admonished Holton, stating, “You’ve left another human being feeling like that and you should feel absolutely ashamed of yourself. This is something that should cause you real reflection.”
The defendant was sentenced to 23 months in prison and received a six-year restraining order.
