A judge has revised the sentences of two people who plotted horrific sexual attacks on three children under 12. Stuart Compton, 46, and Tracy Turner, 52 – a hospital operating assistant – exchanged thousands of messages over two years planning the depraved abuse of two girls and a boy.
The sick scheme was thwarted when an online dating app alerted police about Compton’s behaviour, leading to both arrests.
At Merthyr Crown Court on Wednesday, Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke said there had been a “miscalculation” in the original sentences handed down on Monday. Turner’s jail term was reduced from 12 years to 10 years with two on extended licence, whilst Compton keeps his life sentence but must now serve eight years and 11 months before parole consideration – up from seven years.
The couple, who called themselves “Bonnie and Clyde” in messages, both admitted six counts of arranging sex attacks on children. Compton also pleaded guilty to six counts of making indecent images, with Turner admitting two similar charges.
Judge Lloyd-Clarke said their messages showed they had discussed “over and over again” their desires to rape children, adding their conversations “made clear that this was not fantasy”.
The Cardiff residents had denied other serious charges including conspiracy to murder, rape and kidnap, which were ordered to lie on file.
A parole board must deem Compton safe before any release can be considered.
