Investigation launched after death at HMP Swansea

An investigation has been launched following the death of an inmate at HMP Swansea.

Lee Nation, aged 36, died at the prison on Saturday morning. The Ministry of Justice confirmed his death, though the cause has not yet been determined.

The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman will conduct an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr Nation’s death.

A Prison Service spokeswoman said: “HMP Swansea prisoner Lee Nation died on November 22. As with all deaths in custody, the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman will investigate.”
