A burglar who previously raided the home of Swansea City legend Garry Monk has been jailed after being caught selling heroin and cocaine on the streets of Swansea. 🚨

Benjamin Spencer Llewellyn, 39, of Myrddin Road, Bonymaen, was arrested in February when officers spotted him wearing a balaclava while cycling in Morriston. After a brief chase, police discovered 20g of cocaine worth up to £1,200 and 13g of heroin worth up to £750 in his wallet, along with £285 in cash.

Swansea Crown Court heard that Llewellyn’s phone contained messages related to drug dealing, including one where a customer asked: “Would you swap me a Pandora bracelet for some stuff mate?” Another message showed the customer offering: “Mush, what if I give the bracelet and XBox for half? Help me out son.”

At the time of his arrest, Llewellyn was already on bail for assaulting his ex-partner in December 2024, an attack which involved him repeatedly punching her in the face through a car window before kicking her.

The court heard that Llewellyn was previously jailed for six years in 2014 for a series of burglaries, including the raid on Garry Monk’s Killay home where £50,000 worth of items were stolen, including wedding rings that forced the couple to delay their marriage.

Dan Griffiths, defending, told the court that Llewellyn had experienced an “appalling upbringing during which he was exposed to all manner of negative and harmful behaviours” and that drug addiction had “blighted almost all Llewellyn’s adult life.”

Judge Huw Rees sentenced Llewellyn to a total of 51 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to multiple charges including possession of cocaine and heroin with intent to supply, assault, and possession of bladed articles. 🔒
