Drama teacher sentenced for sexual messages to child

A drama teacher who sent inappropriate sexual messages to a child attending one of his groups has been sentenced at court.

Matthew Bool, 36, from Hirwaun, appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on January 15 where he received a suspended sentence after pleading guilty. He has also been placed on the sexual offenders’ register and given a sexual harm prevention order.

Bool had worked for various drama groups across the South Wales area when he engaged in sexual communication with a child who attended one of the sessions.

Following the sentencing, DC Loui Ellina said: “I commend the victim in their bravery in supporting our investigation and helping us ensure Bool could be held to account for his actions.”
