A Cwmbran man has been imprisoned for more than three years after admitting he controlled and assaulted a woman during their relationship.
Anthony Webb, 36, from Plas Craig, Northville, pleaded guilty to engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour against his victim. The 36-year-old’s offending spanned nearly a year, taking place between December 2022 and November 2023.
Webb appeared at Cardiff Crown Court where he was sentenced to 39 months imprisonment. His defence solicitor, Nigel Fryer, requested that his client receive appropriate credit for entering a guilty plea.
Judge Paul Hobson imposed an indefinite restraining order prohibiting Webb from contacting his victim. The court heard that time already served in custody will count towards his sentence.
The prosecution case was presented by Nik Strobl.
