A Blackwood man has been sentenced to 12 months in prison for a series of violent attacks on his partner.
Bradley McCoy, 25, of Llwyn-on Road, pleaded guilty to intentional strangulation, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, battery, and two counts of criminal damage.
The court heard that McCoy assaulted his partner multiple times, including strangling her after she confronted him about a video of him with another woman. He also damaged her phone and car keys during separate incidents.
In a victim impact statement, the victim said: “I find it difficult to explain the full impact. I feel numb and have experienced sleepless nights. I struggle to concentrate as I’m scared he will return to my home. I am constantly nervous I will see him in the street.”
Recorder John Philpotts sentenced McCoy to 12 months imprisonment and imposed a five-year restraining order.
