Police officers in Barry discovered a significant quantity of cannabis and other drug-related items after stopping 22-year-old Lee Dickenson in 2023. 🚔

Dickenson, of Cei’r Dwyrain, Barry, was detained by patrol officers on March 18, 2023, after matching the description of a wanted individual. Upon searching him, officers found cannabis and a mobile phone.

A subsequent search at Cardiff Bay police station revealed messages on Dickenson’s phone related to drug dealing, including one that read: “3.5 cash now.” When police searched his home address, they discovered additional bags of cannabis, a small amount of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, 11 mobile phones, and cash.

Prosecutor Harry Baker informed the court that the total cannabis weight was 435.7g, with a street value between £1,800 and £3,300. Additional messages linked Dickenson to cannabis sales and showed him directing another individual.

The defendant, who is currently serving a sentence of three years and nine months for possession with intent to supply class A drugs and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, refused to appear in court from prison.

Defence barrister Emma Harris stated that her client had experienced a difficult childhood and lived a “transient lifestyle,” noting that his difficulties with drugs had led him to fall into debt.

Judge Daniel Williams sentenced Dickenson to eight months’ imprisonment, to be served concurrently with his existing sentence.
