Exciting news for burger enthusiasts! California’s beloved Carl’s Jr is crossing the pond, choosing Cardiff’s St David’s Shopping Centre for its first-ever UK restaurant.
The chargrilled burger specialists, established in 1941, have partnered with Boporan Restaurant Group to launch their brand across the UK and Ireland. The new venue will create 40 jobs and offer seating for 50 diners when it opens this April.
“Carl’s Jr has a reputation for delivering high quality, crave-worthy food that stands out in the burger market,” says UK Country Manager David Moffat. “We’re thrilled to bring this iconic brand to Cardiff, our first location in the UK. We’ve had incredible interest from fans eager to experience the Carl’s Jr difference, and we can’t wait to welcome them this April.”
The expansion promises to bring a ‘West Coast vibe’ adapted for British palates. Founded by Carl and Margaret Karcher with their life savings invested in a hot dog cart, Carl’s Jr has grown to 4,000 restaurants worldwide. Their menu features signature items like the Six Dollar Burger, Hand-Scooped Milkshakes, and Charbroiled Turkey Burgers.
