A young Swansea man who orchestrated a Class A drugs operation through bulk text messages has been locked up for more than five years.

Abbas Al-Sulaimawi, 22, from Waun Wen, controlled the “Milly” drugs line – sending out mass texts to users across the city advertising crack cocaine and heroin for sale.

The dealer regularly switched his phone number in an attempt to stay one step ahead of police, but a collaborative investigation between South Wales Police and the Metropolitan Police successfully tracked the various lines back to him.

When officers raided his home, they discovered sim cards for two separate drug lines hidden in a waistband tucked inside clothing in his bedroom. A search also uncovered £3,490 in cash stashed beneath a wardrobe.

Al-Sulaimawi admitted being concerned in the supply of both cocaine and heroin, landing him a sentence of five years, seven months and two weeks behind bars.

Sergeant Luke Tucker said: “Abbas Al-Sulaimawi, despite being just 22 years of age, has multiple previous convictions for being involved in the supply of Class A drugs. He just cannot stay away from peddling the misery that these drugs cause onto the streets of Swansea. It is very satisfying to see that justice has now caught up with him, and he will rightfully spend years in prison.”
