Rhyl local’s inflatable ride amidst flood chaos

While heavy downpours caused flooding misery in parts of North Wales yesterday, one Rhyl resident decided to make the best of a soggy situation!

Josh Asbo Taylor, of Asbo Boyz car club, took to the floodwaters near the Clock Tower in an inflatable, turning heads and raising spirits.

Paris Kendrick, who captured the moment on video, said: “It was just a bit of fun. One of our friends bought an inflatable and decided to go for a row by the little bridge near the Clock Tower where it had flooded.”

The flooding affected several roads in Rhyl, with Towyn reportedly hit harder. Today, Loggerheads Country Park on the Denbighshire / Flintshire border was forced to close due to flooding, despite ongoing improvements to flood defences following severe flooding in 2023.
