A dangerous sex offender has been jailed for 18 years after drugging and raping a woman in a Caerphilly hotel room.
Jake Pinhorn, 33, from Cranleigh, Surrey, forced his victim to drink a mysterious green liquid which left her drifting in and out of consciousness. He then raped her, assaulted her with a sex toy, and shaved her pubic hair while she was unconscious.
The court heard how Pinhorn had met his victim on a dating website. After an initial consensual meeting in Bristol, he orchestrated a second meeting in Caerphilly where the attacks took place.
“She swallowed some of the green liquid and then spat out the rest,” prosecutor Daniel Jones told Newport Crown Court. “She lost consciousness and recalls being in and out of consciousness for some time.”
Judge Daniel Williams stated: “The verdicts of the jury drive me to the conclusion that you had planned to drug, rape and humiliate her. I’m satisfied that the first meeting was designed to see how compliant she would be with what you had planned for her.”
The court also heard that Pinhorn is a convicted paedophile who was found with over 14,000 child abuse images. He had previously breached a sexual harm prevention order and was described as presenting “a high risk of causing serious harm” with “escalating” offending behaviour.
Pinhorn was convicted of rape, assault by penetration and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He must register as a sex offender for life. ⚖️
