A 63-year-old Penrhyn Bay man has been handed a suspended sentence after being found with more than 83,000 images related to child abuse.

Adrian Thompson, of Glan y Mor Road, appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court today after admitting three charges of making indecent images of children and one of possessing an extreme pornographic image.

The court heard that police discovered approximately 3,250 videos and 1,600 still images of child abuse across various devices, including mobile phones, a laptop, USB drives, a memory card and a hard drive.

Judge Nicola Jones told Thompson: “In order for these images to be produced to satisfy the predilections like yourself, very young children are raped, tortured and sexually abused. Their pain and suffering is beyond comprehension.”

Thompson received a 20-month suspended sentence for two years, plus 31 sessions with an accredited programme, 21 rehabilitation requirement days and 120 alcohol abstinence monitoring days. He was also given a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order. 👨‍⚖️
