A 26-year-old Pembrokeshire man has been handed a suspended sentence after being found with hundreds of indecent images of children. 📱
Lawrence Lambert, of Llandissilio, stored 250 category A images (the most serious kind), 115 category B images, and 134 category C images in a folder labelled “CP” – short for “child porn.”
Tom Scapens, prosecuting, told Swansea Crown Court that many of the images were videos discovered on Lambert’s phone in an app dating back to August 2019. Police officers found the content when they visited his address in August 2022.
Lambert initially denied three counts of making indecent images of children before pleading guilty on the day his trial was due to begin last month. The court heard he “still has some trouble” accepting what happened.
Jon Tarrant, defending, highlighted Lambert’s previously clean character, stating: “I hope the court feels at this stage there is still a strong prospect of rehabilitation so that this defendant won’t appear before the court again.”
Judge Catherine Richards told Lambert: “You’re 26 and it has taken some time to accept guilt for these offences but you eventually did so on the day of trial. The images contained a substantial amount of moving images and contained images of children being sexually abused. By your actions you supported that vile trade.”
Lambert received a 13-month suspended sentence and was made subject to a sexual harm prevention order. He must also register as a sex offender.
