A Newport man has been sentenced to five years and eight months in prison for his role in the supply of class A drugs.
William Alcock, 30, was arrested in August after being caught red-handed in a drug exchange by Gwent Police’s Serious Organised Crime (SOC) officers.
Two burner phones – which showed evidence of active drugs lines – and £300 in cash were seized by officers when he was searched.
His home address was also searched following his arrest, and officers found and seized £4,720 in cash, an e-bike and £3,550 worth of heroin and crack cocaine.
A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: “Illegal drugs have no place in our society, and our SOC officers regularly carry out these patrols to tackle and identify those who inflict misery in our communities.
“Members of the public play vital role in providing us with information and we encourage anyone with concerns about drug dealing in their area to contact us so we can continue to act.”
