A 26-year-old man has been sentenced to prison after sending threatening messages to his half-sister, including disturbing threats against her child and elderly grandmother.
Ethan Higton, from Kinmel Bay, bombarded Jessica Roberts with up to 100 messages daily, threatening violence against her family members. The messages included references to weapons and specific threats of harm. 🚔
“When I get out I’m going to go straight to your nan’s address and kill everyone. Your kid’s death is going to be slow. Your nan’s (going to be) burned alive,” one message stated.
Ms Roberts said in her victim statement: “I believe he’s capable of carrying out the threats that he has made.”
Defending, Sarah Yates told Caernarfon Crown Court that Higton “bitterly regrets” his actions, noting he has features of psychosis and traits of autism.
Her Honour Nicola Jones imposed a prison sentence of two years and eight months, along with a 10-year restraining order. The judge highlighted particular concern over Higton’s references to weapons, given his previous conviction for possession of a hunting knife.
