A 32-year-old man from Caerphilly has been sentenced after being found guilty of a child sex offence by a jury following a trial. ⚖️

Ryan Dymond, of Farm Road, was convicted of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of an underage girl. The offence took place in Cardiff in May 2021, prosecutor Alexander Greenwood told jurors whilst opening the case at the capital city’s crown court.

Dymond had denied any wrongdoing during the proceedings.

The court heard in mitigation that there was the prospect of rehabilitation for the defendant.

Recorder Andrew Hammond gave Dymond an 18-month prison sentence, but suspended it for two years. He will also have to complete 200 hours of unpaid work and a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement.

Dymond must register as a sex offender for the next 10 years and pay a statutory victim surcharge. 📋
