A 21-year-old who was prohibited from setting foot in major supermarkets across the Gwent Police force area has been sentenced to eight months in prison after repeatedly flouting the order.
The ban
Cameron Wooley had been made subject to a two-year criminal behaviour order in May 2025, barring him from entering any Tesco, Aldi, Asda or Texaco service station in the region. Despite the restriction, he returned to the stores and continued offending within weeks.
The offences
Wooley admitted stealing goods worth a combined total of nearly £392 across three separate incidents. On April 18, he took meat valued at £85 from the Aldi store at Gallagher Retail Park in Caerphilly. A week later, on April 25, he targeted two stores in a single day – taking alcohol worth £58.50 from the Tesco at Crossways Retail Park and meat worth £248.47 from the same Aldi in Caerphilly.
He also pleaded guilty to resisting a police constable in the execution of their duty in Caerphilly on April 25.
Sentencing
The defendant, of no fixed abode, Caerphilly, appeared before District Judge Sophie Toms at Newport Magistrates’ Court, where he was jailed for eight months.
