Gwent Police has brought murder charges against four individuals following the death of a teenager in Caerphilly county.
Officers were called to a property on Lower Francis Street at approximately 5:45pm on Thursday 5 February after receiving reports that a teenage boy had suffered serious injuries. The 17-year-old from Abertridwr was pronounced dead at the scene and has since been formally identified as Tristan Shae Kerr.
The four accused – three men aged 18, 24 and 26, along with a 24-year-old woman – have all been remanded in custody. They are scheduled to appear before Newport Magistrates Court on Monday 9 February.
A 28-year-old woman from Hereford, who had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
Specially trained officers are providing ongoing support to Tristan’s family during this difficult time.
Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Jitka Tomkova-Griffiths addressed the public interest in the case, saying: “We understand that there has been a great deal of interest in this investigation, however we would ask people not to speculate about the identities of those involved.
“Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends.
