A young drug dealer from Milford Haven has been sentenced to 18 months detention after fleeing from a crashed Mercedes containing cocaine worth over £4,000. 💊

Dylan Brown, 20, of Chestnut Way in Milford Haven, was arrested on December 27 following a high-speed police pursuit. His co-defendant Harrison Billing, who was driving the Mercedes, failed to stop for police around 10:50pm and crashed into a wall and railings when attempting to turn from Hamilton Terrace onto Francis Street.

Both men fled on foot but were quickly apprehended by officers. A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 70 grams of high-purity cocaine valued at more than £4,000, £925.31 in cash, and four mobile phones.

Prosecutor Ashanti-Jade Walton told the court that messages on Brown’s phone revealed his involvement in dealing cocaine and cannabis, with texts from customers asking “You active?” and “What’s your prices?”.

Messages from Billing to Brown made it clear that Brown was working under Billing’s direction, with one stating: “You need to be serious about this s*** because you’re losing me money”.

Brown admitted possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession of criminal property, and being involved in the supply of cocaine and cannabis.

Jon Tarrant, defending, said: “He’s aged just 20. There’s some degree of immaturity. He doesn’t seek to detract at all from acknowledging what he was involved in. There has been no further offending since this. It’s clear that he doesn’t want to return to these circumstances.”

Judge Geraint Walters noted that Brown was not “a typical dealer type” as he had not troubled the courts before, except for driving offences, and had been “told off” in messages by his co-defendant for being “dopey” and “costing him money”.

Billing’s sentencing has been adjourned after he admitted similar offences in a separate case. A Proceeds of Crime hearing will take place after Billing is sentenced.
