A convicted child rapist from Chepstow has been sentenced to two years and eight months in prison after breaching his sexual harm prevention order by contacting a 13-year-old girl on Snapchat.

Louis Summers, 31, formerly known as Louis Beagan, was prohibited from having unsupervised communication with anyone under 16 and creating social media accounts due to his extensive history of child sex offences.

The defendant, who now lives on Marsh Road, Bulwark, had previously served over five years in prison in 2014 for rape and sexual offences against three underage girls.

In 2018, Summers was caught by paedophile hunter groups attempting to groom underage girls on Facebook, resulting in a 10-year sexual harm prevention order. Since then, he has repeatedly breached this order.

At Newport Crown Court, Judge Daniel Williams stated: “This was a very serious breach in my judgement. The harm which was risked by you setting up the Snapchat account and communicating with a 13-year-old girl was the risk of very serious harm being caused. It is aggravated by your previous convictions and your history of treating court orders with utter contempt.”

In addition to the prison sentence, Summers must pay a £228 victim surcharge upon release. ⚖️
