Liam Murphy’s phone number was linked to cocaine sales throughout the region, particularly within Caerphilly County Borough, as part of a wider drug network. He appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday 13 May for sentencing.

A second defendant, a 37-year-old woman also from Caerphilly County, received a 14-month sentence suspended for two years for her involvement in the operation.

PC Rhys Jones, the officer in the case, said: “Drug supply will not be tolerated in Gwent: we’re committed to protecting our communities from the devastating effects of illegal drugs, which can often ruin lives, exploit vulnerable members of society and often lead to other forms of criminal activity.

“If you have any information about people involved in illegal drug activity, please call us on 101, or direct message us on Facebook or Twitter. You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
