A young drug dealer who was living with his mother has been jailed after police raided their home and uncovered his cocaine supply operation in the Gwent Valleys.

Cameron Lloyd, 21, from Heathfield Walk in Aberbargoed, Caerphilly, was sentenced to 27 months in prison after admitting being concerned in the supply of a class A drug along with simple possession of cocaine and cannabis.

Officers discovered 122 grams of cannabis worth £1,200 and 2.46 grams of cocaine valued at between £120 and £240 hidden in Lloyd’s bedroom during the raid. Police also seized £515 in cash and his mobile phone.

Prosecutor Pamela Kaiga told Cardiff Crown Court that the phone contained drug-related messages, with one revealing that Lloyd played a “more managerial” role in his dealings with another contact. His offending took place between September 1 and October 30, 2025.

When interviewed by detectives following his arrest, Lloyd denied selling cocaine despite the evidence against him.

The court heard that Lloyd has no previous convictions. His barrister Tabitha Walker told the judge: “The defendant started smoking cannabis at a relatively young age which grew into a cocaine addiction and this is why he finds himself in the situation he finds himself in today.

“He is of previous good character and he’s still a young man. There is a level of immaturity and he has some growing up to do. The defendant knows that prison is the only outcome today.”

Ms Walker added that Lloyd aims to work in the construction industry once he is released from custody.

Judge Paul Hobson told Lloyd: “You were involved in street dealing for around two months. Only immediate custody can be justified for this type of offence.”

After jailing the defendant for 27 months, the judge said: “You can go with the officers.”

Lloyd replied: “Thank you very much.”

The defendant is set to face a proceeds of crime hearing later this year.
