⚠️ ❄️ A yellow weather warning for ice and snow has been issued for large parts of Wales on Friday.
The Met Office warning will be in place from midnight until midday on 2 January, with forecasters cautioning that buses and trains may be delayed due to the conditions.
People are being advised to plan ahead for car journeys and allow extra time for travel. Between 1-2cm of snow is likely for some areas, with as much as 5cm expected on higher ground.
The Met Office has warned that untreated pavements and cycle paths may become treacherous or impassable for those travelling on foot.
The yellow snow and ice warning covers 15 local authority areas: Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Newport, Powys, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Torfaen, and Wrexham.
Residents in affected areas should take care when travelling and be prepared for potential disruption to transport services.
