The Met Office has issued multiple weather warnings for Wales as heavy rain threatens to bring travel disruption and flooding across parts of the country on Sunday and Monday. 🌧️⚠️

The warnings come following recent flooding after Storm Bram, with meteorologists warning that saturated ground increases the likelihood of further impacts.

High ground in parts of south, north and mid Wales could see more than 100mm (4in) of rain, whilst up to 70mm (2.8in) is expected elsewhere. An amber warning has been put in place for Monday.

BBC weather forecasters have also said that 60mph (97km/h) wind gusts could be expected in some coastal areas on Sunday.

The Met Office said: “Given the recent wet weather and saturated ground, the likelihood of impacts is higher.”

Warnings in place:

An amber warning for rain has been issued for Bridgend, Carmarthenshire, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Swansea from 03:00 GMT on Monday until 21:00 on Monday.

A yellow warning for rain covers Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Ceredigion, Merthyr Tydfil, Powys and Vale of Glamorgan throughout Monday, along with another covering Flintshire and Wrexham.

A separate yellow warning for rain is in place for Ceredigion, Conwy, Denbighshire, Gwynedd and Powys from 18:00 on Sunday until 15:00 on Monday.

Residents are advised to prepare for potential travel disruption and localised flooding.
