A van driver has been handed a community order after admitting he caused serious injuries to two people in a crash in Tredegar last year.
The collision
Kevin Sandercock and Sonia Jenkins were both seriously hurt when James Williams, 33, drove a Ford Transit van into them on Thomas Ellis Way on November 7, 2025.
Sentencing
Williams, of Oak Road, Blaina, pleaded guilty to two counts of causing serious injury by careless driving when he appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court.
He was given a 12-month community order and told to complete 200 hours of unpaid work. Williams was also banned from driving for two years and ordered to pay £114 in surcharges along with £85 in costs.
