A pair of dealers who ran a crack cocaine supply operation from the home of their own customers have been locked up.

Colombian Juan Bejarano-Zamorano, 24, and Jayden Morgan, 19, used an address in Newport as the base for their drug dealing between May 31, 2025 and September 25, 2025.

Cardiff Crown Court heard the duo conspired to supply crack cocaine, providing the Class A drug to users and operating a tick system to keep customers dependent.

The operation

Prosecutor Abigal Jackson told the court: “There was the expectation of significant financial advantage.”

The pair were arrested last autumn and both gave no comment interviews to detectives. They later pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply crack cocaine.

Sentencing

Recorder Ben Blackmore told them: “You were supplying crack cocaine to users and providing drugs to users on tick.

“This was a profitable business and you were using the home of some of your customers, for want of a better phrase, as the hub.

“You both knew fully well that what you were doing was organised crime and utterly illegal.”

He added: “You had little thought for the wretched souls whose habits you were feeding.

“You saw the drug world as an opportunity to make money.”

Defence arguments

Kevin Seal, representing Bejarano-Zamorano, told the court his client had been “drug-free” since being remanded in custody. “He’s not an habitual user of cocaine,” he added.

The father of three had two previous convictions including aggravated vehicle taking and possession of a bladed article in public.

Tabitha Walker, for Morgan, asked the court to consider his young age and “immaturity”, adding: “There’s genuine remorse.”

Sentences

Bejarano-Zamorano, of Thirlmere Place, Newport, was jailed for 32 months. Morgan, of Crouch Close, Bettws, Newport, was sent to a young offender institution for 28 months.

Time already served on remand will count towards their sentences, and both must pay a victim surcharge following their release, expected at around the halfway point.
