A one-year-old girl has died after being struck by a vehicle at a campsite in North Wales today.
Emergency services rushed to Bryn Gloch caravan and campsite in Betws Garmon near Caernarfon, Gwynedd, following the incident which occurred at 10:20 BST on Monday.
The child was airlifted to Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool but sadly died on Monday afternoon, according to North Wales Police.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, and the girl’s family is receiving support “at this extremely difficult time.”
BBC reporter George Herd, who visited the scene, noted that both staff and visitors “have been deeply upset by today’s events in such a quiet, small, rural village.”
The coroner has been informed about the death as inquiries continue into this heartbreaking incident. 😢
