A Pembrokeshire man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after subjecting his former partner to controlling behaviour and a persistent stalking campaign. 📱

Swansea Crown Court heard that Dorian Williams, 49, of Bryn Salem, Felinfach, isolated his partner from family and friends during their relationship, which began in 2020. He would take away her phone and car keys to control her access to the outside world.

When she ended the relationship, Williams bombarded his ex with up to 40 calls daily, sent numerous emails, and contacted her via social media after she blocked his number.

The court was told Williams would drive past her home repeatedly, revving his engine and beeping his horn. He also appeared at her workplace, posted about her on Facebook, and contacted both her friends and her student son.

Despite being arrested in November and charged in December, the MoT inspector continued his harassment even after appearing in court in January.

Judge Paul Thomas KC said Williams had sought to “dominate his partner’s life” and then embarked on a “sinister campaign” of stalking when the relationship ended, employing “emotional blackmail of staggering immaturity.”

The victim’s statement revealed the severe impact on her mental health, stating she “struggled to recognise herself as the person she was before the relationship.”

Williams had previously been convicted of harassment and breaching a restraining order in relation to a different victim.

He will serve up to half his sentence in custody before being released on licence, and is subject to a five-year restraining order banning him from contacting his former partner.
