Newport man fined over XL Bully dog offence

A Newport man has been fined after admitting an offence involving an XL Bully dog.

Aaron Gilbert, 37, of East Grove Road, Newport, pleaded guilty to possession/having custody of a fighting dog called Zeus in the city on July 3.

He appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court where he was fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 costs and an £80 surcharge.

A contingent destruction order for the dog was also made by the court.
