A Newport man has been fined after admitting an offence involving an XL Bully dog.
Aaron Gilbert, 37, of East Grove Road, Newport, pleaded guilty to possession/having custody of a fighting dog called Zeus in the city on July 3.
He appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court where he was fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 costs and an £80 surcharge.
A contingent destruction order for the dog was also made by the court.
A Cwmbran man who handled an electric bike stolen from Gwent Police has been jailed at Newport Magistrates’ Court. He also admitted taking £20 worth of cider and lager from a shop on the same day.
Adam Doughton, 34, of Blackwood, admitted performing sexual acts on another person in a public place in Newport on August 22, 2026. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £26 surcharge.
Ross Edwards, 33, has been given 30 weeks in prison after stealing from a business on Cambrian Road in Newport just two days after receiving a suspended sentence.
