A drug dealer who was found naked in his bedroom alongside his girlfriend – with more than a kilogram of cocaine nearby – raked in over £106,000 from his illegal operation, a court has heard.

Jordan Martin, 33, from Newport, was jailed for four years and eight months in September 2025 after police raided his home on Walker Point Way.

He appeared back before the courts for a proceeds of crime act hearing.

The raid

When Martin was originally sentenced at Newport Crown Court, prosecutor Nuhu Gobir outlined how officers arrived at the property and allowed Martin and his partner to get dressed before escorting them to the living room.

They were then asked whether there was anything in the house that would be of interest to police.

Mr Gobir said: “Mr Martin told them, ‘There’s cocaine in the bedroom – there’s a lot of it.'”

Officers searched the property and discovered snap bags of the class A drug had been thrown from the bedroom window. Packages of cocaine were recovered from the garden below and from the windowsill.

No comment interview

After being taken to the police station, Martin gave a “no comment” interview to detectives.

He later pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine, being concerned in the supply of cannabis and possession of criminal property.

The court heard he had two previous convictions for five offences, though none were relevant to the case.

Proceeds of crime

Mr Gobir told the hearing that Martin had made £106,016.29 through his criminal enterprise but had just £2,537.28 left in available assets – cash already held by Gwent Police.

Defence

Gareth Williams, representing Martin, who is a father, said: “Through me, he is keen to express his remorse, insight and acceptance of his responsibility.

“There is a letter from his employer describing him as a reliable and trustworthy worker.

“He is entirely realistic about the outcome of today’s hearing.

“This is his first time in custody.”

Sentencing

Judge Christopher Felstead dealt with the proceeds of crime hearing, while Recorder Greg Bull KC had previously sentenced Martin.

The recorder told him: “Cocaine causes misery in the lives of those who become addicted to it.

“You were selling it in big quantities – well over a kilo was packaged for onward supply.”
