⚖️ A 20-year-old man has been sentenced after sexually assaulting a vulnerable woman on one of Cardiff’s main shopping streets.
Morgan Kemble approached the victim, who was sitting outside a shop with a sleeping bag, saying “Beautiful, what are you doing?” before sitting next to her and placing his arm around her despite her protests.
The assault, which was captured on CCTV, escalated when Kemble placed his hand underneath the sleeping bag and touched the victim inappropriately after she had explicitly told him she felt “uncomfortable”.
Whilst on police bail, Kemble went on to breach a non-molestation order by attending his parents’ home and later stole his mother’s bank card, making purchases worth £76.83 in the Bridgend area.
At Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court, Kemble, of Church Acre, Brackla, Bridgend, pleaded guilty to sexual assault, burglary, fraud by false representation and breach of a non-molestation order.
The Recorder of Cardiff, Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke, sentenced him to one year’s detention in a young offenders institute, to be served consecutively to his current three-year sentence for robbery. ⚖️
