Mark McCarthy, 33, of Rhiw’r Ddar, Taff’s Well, pleaded guilty on Friday, November 14 to threatening with a bladed article following an incident on Brook Street in Riverside.

He was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court on Monday, November 18.

Detective Constable Phillips said: “Knife crime remains a top priority for South Wales Police, and we are committed to protecting our communities by tackling those who carry weapons and pose such serious risks to public safety.

“I’m pleased to see this sentence ordered today and hope it sends a message to McCarthy and others that we will ensure they are held accountable for using weapons to intimidate others.”
