Roland Michael Doano, 47, of no fixed abode, appeared at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on Friday 16 January where he admitted assaulting an emergency worker.

The incident unfolded after officers were called to Bangor bus station on 15 January following reports of an altercation. Doano was arrested and transported to custody, but once there his behaviour turned aggressive and he lashed out at an officer, kicking them in the chest.

The 47-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence and was immediately sentenced to 16 weeks behind bars.

District Inspector Jamie Owens said: “Violence against emergency workers is completely unacceptable, and we will never tolerate it here in Gwynedd. Our officers come to work each day to keep the public safe, and they deserve to carry out their duties without fear of assault. We will continue to take robust action against anyone who threatens the safety of our officers or the wider community.”
