Man Jailed After Knife Discovery in Cardiff’s Butetown

A 36-year-old man has been jailed just 24 hours after police discovered him carrying a knife in Butetown, Cardiff. 🚔

Tyran Webber was spotted by officers responding to an incident in Mount Stuart Square on Wednesday afternoon. Police became suspicious of Webber and conducted a check, which revealed he was wanted on recall to prison. Upon searching him, officers found a knife tucked in his sock.

Webber appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Thursday, March 6) where he pleaded guilty to possession of a knife and was sentenced to 34 weeks in prison.

“This is one example of work we are doing in Butetown to keep the area safe,” police said.

“We can, and regularly do, act upon the information provided to us by the public, so please keep it coming and continue to work with us.” 👮‍♂️
