North Wales Police have seized a Suron e-bike following reports of dangerous riding in the Prestatyn area yesterday evening (Wednesday, May 14).

Members of the public contacted police at approximately 6pm reporting an e-bike with two occupants dressed in black and wearing balaclavas riding dangerously around Gronant Road and contravening red traffic lights. 🚦

Officers from the Roads Crime Unit attended the area and located the e-bike, which failed to stop when requested. A pursuit was brought to a safe conclusion to minimise risk to other road users, pedestrians, and both the rider and pillion passenger.

Both occupants fled the scene, but police enquiries are underway to locate them.

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “We’d like to thank those who contacted us and reported this incident, we are aware of the issues that these e-bikes cause and the risks that they bring with them. We ask that members of the public continue to report these types of incidents as we will always attempt to disrupt and stop them.”

Police added: “We have their bike should they want to contact us to discuss getting their Suron returned.”

The force reminds the public that e-bikes on pavements and pedestrian areas cause significant public nuisance, with members of the public reporting feeling unsafe due to the reckless behaviour of some riders.

“We’ll continue to take action against anyone riding illegally or dangerously. This is about keeping our communities safe,” the spokesperson concluded.
