Woman Jailed 30 Weeks for £607 Sainsbury’s Shoplifting Spree

A 60-year-old woman has been sentenced to 30 weeks in prison after stealing goods worth £607 from a Newport supermarket. 🛒⚖️

Tracey Matheson, of Drawlings Close, Old St Mellons, Cardiff, was caught shoplifting at Sainsbury’s in Newport on Saturday, July 26. She pleaded guilty to the theft at Newport Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard that Matheson has “a flagrant disregard for court orders”, leading to the custodial sentence.

All stolen items were recovered, so no compensation order was made.
