A man who repeatedly stole alcohol from supermarkets across Newport has been sentenced to 12 weeks in prison.
Andrew Fletcher, 41, of no fixed abode, Newport, carried out a spree of thefts at Tesco and Sainsbury’s stores over the course of a week between March 5 and March 11.
He appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court where he admitted five counts of theft.
District Judge Sophie Toms handed Fletcher a 12-week custodial sentence and ordered him to pay compensation to the stores upon his release from prison.
