A 27-year-old from Hakin has pleaded guilty to possessing a prohibited dog breed after being found with an XL Bully-type animal at his home.
The offence
Cameron Jeffrey, of Hawthorn Path, Hakin, was discovered to be in possession or custody of the dog at his address on January 14 this year. The breed is banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
Court proceedings
Jeffrey entered his guilty plea at Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on April 21. The case had been listed for sentencing on May 19 but was adjourned to give the prosecution and police time to prepare a contingency destruction order for the animal.
A further hearing is now scheduled at Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on May 26. Jeffrey has been granted unconditional bail in the meantime.
