Paedophile Gets Community Order for Child Abuse Images

A paedophile caught with child abuse images on his mobile phone has been sentenced to an 18-month community order and must register as a sex offender for five years. 📱⚖️

Conor Smith, 29, of Cobner Close, Trevethin, Pontypool, pleaded guilty to making four category C indecent photographs of a child at Newport Magistrates’ Court. His offences took place between 21st January and 14th March.

The court sentenced Smith to an 18-month community order, requiring him to attend a 26-day accredited programme and complete a 10-day rehabilitation activity requirement. He was also made subject to a 12-month mental health treatment requirement.

Smith was fined £120, ordered to pay a £114 surcharge and £85 costs. The defendant was also made subject to a five-year sexual harm prevention order and must register as a sex offender for the next five years.
