A Cardiff student who viciously attacked his ex-partner and was found with thousands of pounds worth of cannabis has been imprisoned for over two years.
Isiah Queeley, 27, broke into his former partner’s home through a window and subjected her to a horrific five-minute assault, repeatedly kicking her head while she tried to protect herself. The incident occurred on February 9 last year at around 8:25pm.
Before entering the property, Queeley confronted a concerned neighbour, saying “Shut up you tramp, you aren’t a big man”. Witnesses described him as having a “crazed look in his eyes” during the attack.
The business and accountancy student was also caught with 309g of cannabis and 4.8g of cocaine in January 2023. Evidence from seized phones revealed his involvement in supplying cannabis and trading luxury watches.
Defence barrister Kirsten Murphy told Cardiff Crown Court that Queeley had previously been stabbed and was mixing strong medication with alcohol at the time of the incident.
Judge Matthew Porter-Bryant sentenced Queeley to 25 months in prison, stating the victim “had an expectation to feel safe in her own home” but the defendant had “invaded” her place of safety.
A seven-year restraining order was also imposed. 👨⚖️
